account & device set up

To set up your Xumo device you actually need your contact at Comcast to push the developer software onto the device first and give you the PIN for the app you want to test.

When this happens, you will see a welcome screen on the device with instructions to sign up for a Xumo account. Follow those instructions and finish setting up the device.

Make sure your Xumo and PC are on the same network.


Partner Trials App

Navigate to Settings on the Xumo and select Network.

Select Advanced Settings and then focus on IP settings.

Open a browser on your PC and type in (ip address of Xumo):8090 in your address bar and hit enter.

Click on Settings at the top right and toggle ON for Force all apps launchable.

Scroll down to Installed Apps and search for partner.trials.app.

Launch the app (click on what looks like the play button).

The Welcome to App Trials screen will appear on the Xumo device.

Enter the PIN that Comcast has given you for the app you need to test.

You will see an app loaded message - you can sit on this screen on go back to the device home screen.


Launching the app

Go to the Installed Apps section in the browser and find the app you want to test there now.

Click on the “Launch app with arguments” button.

Here, we will want to specify the environment we want to launch (otherwise it will launch Prod). Type in { “url”:”ctv endpoint specifying the environment” } in the Arguments tab.

Then click the Launch button.

The app with the specific environment we want to test will launch now.
